I go back and forth about Quincy’s site and how long to keep updating it. We do live in Maine, which makes visits difficult for almost everybody on the e-mail list. It is, however, a lot of work to keep on top of things like the Timeline and pictures, etc. I imagine it will only get harder as he gets older and is busier (hard to imagine).
So, to that end, I am conducting an informal survery of you, the readers. I have not decided what I am going to do, but am just soliciting some feedback. Feel free to leave a comment as well, after you have made your vote.
The website has been great. Selfishly speaking it would be good for you to continue updating it forever…but that isn’t real practical. I think if you end it at age 2 that is more than fair. We friends/family can keep in touch with you after that to find out how you ALL are doing.
No need to end the site. As he gets older, you simply report less often, just the important stuff. I know – everything’s important! Just make choices, that’s all. Whatever you put on the site, we will gladly look at and enjoy it.
I think the grandparents especially will probably like to be able to see updated pictures on the website indefinitely (through age 18) unless they all move to Maine! I agree with Steve’s Dad — probably just less frequent posts will be needed as Quincy gets older and we can just do occasional posts and pictures to keep Quincy’s fan club happy.
I really enjoy checking in to see what Quincy is up to and appreciate all the time and energy you put into Quincy’s site.
Like Grandpa said – whatever is there we will enjoy.
Adapt the site as Mr. Q gets older. I truly enjoy keeping updates on the Rock Happenings! Since many of us live so far away this our way of “being there”. My thought (and they can be few and far between) is to continue as it is until kindergarten and then maybe do a monthly post. As Q gets older and more involved in stuff about once or so a month may be all that Daddy can manage!
