He’s Here!

Today is August 17, 2005 and the three of us have all returned to Wellsville from Rochester. We are extremely happy to be home. Thank you to everyone who has every prayed for our little guy. We couldn’t have done it alone.

A short snippet on how things went down. Dara had intense contractions on Sunday afternoon, the 14th. We drove up to Rochester that evening and arrived about 7:15pm. We were excited/scared because we knew this was the real deal. Dara received an epidural around 10:30pm and then quickly dilated to the full 10cm by 2am Monday morning.

The pushing phase was rough. It took around 4 hours to get Quincy to arrive. Quincy Alexander was born on August 15, 2005 at 6:55am, weighing in at 7lb 12oz and being 21 inches in length.

The stay in the hospital was uneventful (finally something went our way in all this!). Quincy and Dara and breastfeeding great – her milk just came in today in fact.

Ashby is almost a little too excited. 🙂 He is very much interested in this new pack member and likes to smell him through the baby gate at the top of the stairs. We’re going to take it slow with the two of them.

I know this is a bit of a ramble, but I am very tired. I just wanted to get something up and posted about what happened. Make sure to check out the pictures I have posted already. So far I have hospital pictures posted. I will keep the news flowing!

Updates Via Email

I’ve installed an email updater. People who want to receive updates, can enter their email address and subscribe to the updates. This way, I don’t have to actually do anything about entering in a bunch of email addresses. This is the test message.

Hopefully, there will be something to read in my inbox. Plus, I need to do some tweaking about naviagtion with more than one message, so this message is necessary despite the fact that is has nothing, really, to do with what is going on. 🙂

If you have an RSS reader, then you can simply subscribe to the feed – a much easier way to keep up with updates. However, if you know nothing about RSS, then stick with the email updates, or just visit whenever you feel like. I’m here to help. 😉

Life Begins Anew

I have created this newest web area well in advance of the baby’s due date. I wanted to get things set up the way I wanted them to look just in case he decided to come early. 🙂

The picture on the front page is a scanned in image of the birth announcements that we sent out. The picture was just a black and white stamp that Steve then colored in with colored pencil.

Welcome to the world, Quincy!
