Episode II and Episode III

Since it is now June, I have begun production work on Episode III of Quincy’s DVD series. Obviously, I can’t finish it until August is over, but I have started the groundwork for it. It is going to be very similar to Episode II.

One thing I was playing around with was adding a Director’s commentary track to Episode II. I was able to figure it out and managed to have something to say for almost the full 39 minutes. I know, hard to believe, right? I don’t have that version for mass consumption – it was just a sort of, let me see if I can do it kind of thing.

However, with the upcoming release of Episode III this summer, I decided to upload Episode II to Quincy’s site so that people who didn’t get a DVD could watch it – if they want to. The file size is 184MB – so those of you on dial-up are out of luck. The video is a self-contained .EXE file that you download and save on your computer and then just run locally.

You can download the video from this link.

Please let me know if there are any issues or problems. If, for whatever reason, you want a Director’s Commentary version, I can upload it as well (file is 200+MB) or burn a DVD.

I think I started working on these recently because I have been watching the Original Star Wars trilogy in the basement as I bike. I just have Jedi to go. Anyways, enjoy if you download.

May Three-for-One

It seems that we have taking a smattering of pictures all during the month of May. I felt it best to lump them together into one post since there are eight pictures from three different times/events.

These first two pictures are from Sunday, May 11th – Mother’s Day. I took these right before we left for church. You will notice the lovely tulips that are present in the background. We planted those last fall. We did a lot of planting last fall, and it looks like everything that we planted has come up this year. Now Dara has big plans for even more landscaping with flowers and whatnot.

On Wednesday, May 14th, we did a lot of things. Since Dara had to work on her birthday the day before, we wanted to have some fun family time. The first stop was the local children’s museum. Quincy’s been there many times, but has never done the toddler craft thing they have on Wednesday mornings. We decided to check it out. It was a painting craft – paint a Japanese fan. It was basically a toddler free-for-all with paint. Quincy globbed it on something fierce that it took many hours of sitting in the car to dry. Here are three snapshots from the artist.

After the museum, it was time for lunch. We walked over to the Sea Dog restaurant and ate outside on their patio. Quincy ate in a booster seat for the entire meal (first time). The food was so-so, but it was nice to be sitting outside overlooking the Penobscot river. Once lunch was finished, it was time for Quincy to take Dara to the Bog walk for her inaugural visit. The black flies have been out so far this May, but it wasn’t buggy at all. Since Quincy was full and it was getting closer to naptime, he wasn’t able to walk the entire way like he usually does – and thus these pictures.

I apologize to our dial-up viewers. I have been using a better quality for the jpg files and thus the longer waits. Sorry, but quality is more important to me. 🙂 So there you have the 3 for 1 May special! Phew, I don’t anticipate many more photos for this month.

Sand Beach at Acadia

With this day being so beautiful, and falling on a Wednesday, we decided to take Quincy to the beach: Sand Beach at Acadia National Park. The air temp was great with a slight breeze. The water temp, however, is probably no warmer than the 40s or 50s I would guess – that didn’t stop me from going in, hardy New Englander that I am. Quincy wanted no part of being near the water itself and he actually made us move back from the water shortly after we got there.

Head on over to the gallery to view the pictures.
