The Rock clan was here in wonderful Wellsville this past weekend, and we had a great visit with all. Quincy made sure to smile really big for everybody.
One Fall tradition that Dara and I have had since we lived in Rochester was to go and pick apples at an orchard outside of Rochester. Since my brother and I never had the privilege of this activity as little kids ;), we figured that we’d recoup some lost childhood memories by going. It just so happened that the type of apple my family loves, the Cortland, was available for picking.
So, we got all geared up and drove the long way from Wellsville to the orchard, with the requisite feeding stops along the way. Quincy was actually sleeping for a while at the orchard, but he did manage to wake up, get into his carrier and wander the orchard while strapped to my chest. He seemed to enjoy the cool, crisp air and the aroma of apples in his nose.
Dara and I picked about 35 pounds of apples! We will be making some tasty treats in the next couple of days so as not to lose the fruit of our labor – no pun intended.
To immortalize the apple picking adventure, I have uploaded 8 photos of the Rock family – proof positive that we have all now been apple picking.
Quincy has been a lot more expressive lately. This photo is from this AM. His favorite place to smile, though, is on the changing table. We’re glad that he doesn’t throw a fit while being changed (usually). He seems to think that it is playtime after he has a new diaper in place. He is also making a few other noises now besides crying. I think he’ll start being more vocal in the next week or so – if he’s anything like his dad!
